A Small Note on Supporting Others

A Small Note on Supporting Others

Over the years, I’ve found myself naturally curious about other businesses — not just what they sell, but why they do what they do. What drives the owners and the employees? The stories behind them. The risks they took. The effort it takes to open the doors each day and keep going.

Running a business teaches you to notice these things. You begin to recognize the care, the persistence, and the quiet courage it takes to build something and stand behind it.

When we talk about “supporting local,” I think it’s really about appreciation. Noticing. Paying attention. Thinking outside the box. Spreading the word when something is done well. Saying thank you — sometimes directly, sometimes simply by choosing them, and sometimes through creative actions they may never even be aware of.

Berkshire Love grew out of that feeling. A desire to gather good things thoughtfully, and in doing so, shine a small light on the people and businesses around us who are trying, creating, and contributing.

This isn’t about asking people to support us. It’s about wanting to support others. The real power we have is our ability to give — to be thoughtful.

If anything comes back our way, that’s fine — but it isn’t a transaction.

It’s just a small note of appreciation… and awe, really. An invitation to notice the good work happening all around us.
